I figured depression was just something I’d have to deal with – you know, put the whole ‘chronic’ label on it and just get used to its best friend, Anxiety, sticking around too.

I realize now how often a lot of us think this. Feel this. Live this for years… But as a graduating 22-year-old from UF with a Linguistics degree I couldn’t see anything ‘wrong’ with that.

Interestingly enough, after graduating and just accepting – I saw an infograph about women and their weight as they move from ages 22 to 28 if they continue to ‘drink, do drugs and eat poorly.’ I was horrified and realized, for probably the first time in my life, I could have active control over it. And thus, I searched YouTube for a beginners yoga routine – basically because I hated all exercise and thought yoga would be an easy way to ‘get the most bang for my buck.’

Let’s fast-forward, I don’t want to make you lose complete faith in me ;D. Three years later I can’t say how different my life is. After finding yoga there was literally NOTHING ELSE in my life. I read every book I could get my hands on, I immediately enrolled in a YTT because I knew I wanted to teach but also because I knew how much more education I could receive. My diet fell beautifully into line with my newfound respect for my body which led me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I became a Certified Health Coach. And the confidence I received from this transformation propelled me to go travel in June of 2016 – April 2017 where I found the most amazing RYT500 training in Bali which only reaffirmed how much I needed yoga and how much I knew my purpose in life was to spread health and fitness to others.

Now that I’m back and am figuring out the next steps in my life – I’ve decided to start up a health blog that focuses on combining my two favorite things: health and my long-time first love – art.

Here you’ll find my musings in health topics new and old, the art I create to accompany my recipes or even day to day experiments and maybe a bit of makeup chit chat if I can figure out how to integrate it smoothly!
